Rachel Horman is a Solicitor and the head of the Domestic Violence and Forced Marriage Department division of the Family department at Watson Ramsbottom. Her practice extends beyond the firm’s Lancashire base across North West of England. She is an advanced Resolution accredited specialist in the areas of Domestic Violence and Forced Marriage. She won the National Family Law Partner of the Year Award 2014 and won the National Family Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Award in 2012 as recognition of her work in these areas. Rachel sits on two All Party Parliamentary Groups for Stalking & Harassment and Domestic Violence and also joined the board of Paladin, the National Stalking Advocacy service in 2014. Rachel has specialised in Domestic Violence and Forced Marriage for over 15 years and heads up a specialist department of over 20 staff – the only one of its kind in the area. Rachel is regularly invited to speak at conferences and provide training throughout the North West of England and has previously been a CAADA trainer on Domestic Violence. Passionate about highlighting the injustice of Domestic Violence and Forced Marriage, Rachel is regularly requested to make media contributions and has featured on the Today Programme on Radio 4, Radio 2 News, Radio Lancashire, Radio Manchester, BBC News Channel, Sky News and Channel 4 News as well as being quoted in the national and local press. Rachel also volunteers her time and advises several Domestic Violence charities. In her spare time Rachel is a keen cook and enjoys walking with her partner and 2 dogs, Freddie and Ebenezer.
