LONDON — Black and ethnic minority British citizens are being discriminated against by landlords because of a government scheme designed to tackle illegal immigration, says a new study. The government introduced the "Right to Rent" scheme last year in a bid to prevent illegal immigrants settling in the UK. Under the scheme landlords risk large fines or prison if they fail to check the immigration status of tenants.
